Job Summary:

Provide services in the identification and testing of materials used in laser and inkjet printing. This requires the ability to develop strong instrumentation skills, especially in areas such as Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), optical microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), dynamic scanning calorimetry (DSC), gel permeation/size exclusion chromatography (GPC/SEC), viscometry, electron microscopy, x-ray analysis, elemental analysis (ICP/AA), and wet laboratory methods. Primary duties will include providing on-going materials verification for development purposes and.support on quality and environmental initiatives. The applicant will be expected to provide routine instrument maintenance and coordinate manufacturer service calls for major failures. The candidate should be familiar with maintaining a safe laboratory environment and following a chemical hygiene plan. Hazardous chemicals will need to be safely handled using appropriate personal protective equipment. The ability to effectively communicate scientific findings is necessary.

Qualifications:

-Experience in safe materials identification including analytical instrumentation

-Has proven skills in chemical handling in a laboratory environment

-Knowledgeable in Elemental Analysis by ICP or AA spectroscopy, Polymer Identification, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Dynamic Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Size Exclusion Chromatography, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), Viscometry, Electron Microscopy, X-ray Analysis, Wet laboratory/chemical separations

-With solid background in safety
